Recruitment of a group leader at Institut Cochin Paris, France
Institut Cochin opens a position for an outstanding scientist wishing to establish his/her independent team.
Institut Cochin is a leading French biological Research Center, affiliated to Inserm, CNRS and Université de Paris, located in the campus of Cochin Hospital. Its 40 independent research groups focus in basic as well as translational research domains, corresponding to the following scientific departments:
- Development, Reproduction and Cancer (DRC)
- Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes (EMD)
- Infection, Immunity and Inflammation (3I)
The newly recruited team should address biological questions in line with priority axes of the DRC or EMD department.
Are particularly encouraged applications from candidates with expertise in:
a) Stem Cells and cell reprogramming, chromatin structure and gene expression
or
b) Metabolism from molecular to cellular and integrated systems, including bioenergetics, metabolomics and immunometabolism.
This group will benefit from extensive support by, and strong interactions with, state-of-the-art core facilities of Institut Cochin (institutcochin.fr/core_facilities). These facilities provide all the necessary skills and highly specialized equipment for cutting-edge research.
Appropriate laboratory space will be available to the selected group leader and an initial support package will be provided. The candidates must meet criteria to compete for national and international research funding. Those who do not have a permanent position in France will have to apply to the ERC and/or ATIP/Avenir programs and/or to French institutional research/teaching positions (CNRS, Inserm, Université de Paris).
