This meeting will bring together researchers who work on a wide range of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses and parasites. Our aim is to unite these experts through a joint interest in epigenetic gene regulation and the interactions between both pathogen and host genomes. In this way we aim to clarify common and distinct pathways employed during infections by different classes of infectious microbial agents. This meeting will explore common ground and focus on sharing expertise in the technologies used to explore epigenome function and regulation. We hope to promote cross-talk between different research communities and to identify important areas for joint investment in the years ahead. We will specifically focus on the shared experience of applying state-of-the-art genomics and epigenomics technologies to clinically-relevant pathogens and disease models.
